Problem Statement

How has the American food culture evolved to prioritize speed, novelty, and convenience, often at the expense of sustainability, health, and tradition?

Objective

Scramble is an interactive digital art project designed to shed light on the often-overlooked facets of American food culture. By allowing users to mix and modify different food items, the webpage seeks to underline the unsustainable nature of consumer food trends.

The primary objective of Scramble is to comment on the impermanence and futility when it comes to food culture in America. By creating absurd food combinations that can only be thrown away, users are forced to confront the often unsustainable nature of consumer-driven food trends and delve into the idea of genetically modified foods and their impact on food waste.

Scramble is more than just a playful interactive webpage—it's a commentary on American food culture. Through its engaging design and thoughtful content, it encourages users to reflect on their own consumption habits and recognize the ephemeral nature of food trends that come and go.

How It Works

Food is created and the only option the user has is to either continue to modify their food or to simply throw it away and start over.
